Replace that flimsy, plastic Guitar Hero axe with a soccer ball.

These DIY freestyle-footballers play their full-sized, wall-mounted “Football Hero” with skill, achieving a 76 percent accuracy rating after only 17 games.

They kick soccer balls at the control pads (pressure sensitive piezo sensors) on the fretboard projection, controlled by the Arduino platform.

Sure beats soccer practice.

Cup Stacking Champion Steven Purgganan

To say Steven Purugganan is fast is an understatement.

The twelve-year-old from Longmeadow, Massachusetts has won two Cup Stacking world championships, and appeared in commercials for McDonald’s and Firefox.

According to Steven’s Wikipedia page, he has been featured in “…a front-page article in The Wall Street Journal, a one-page article in Time magazine titled ‘Stacktacular’ and one in ESPN The Magazine titled ‘How to Pile the Plastic.’”

What is Cup Stacking? Also known as Sport Stacking and Speed Stacking, Cup Stacking “is an individual and team sport that involves stacking specialized plastic cups in specific sequences in as little time as possible.”

Vortex Canon Demolishes House

Jem Stansfield from BBC’s Bang Goes the Theory has “put scientific theory to the test” with his Vortex Cannon. Filmed at 1300-fps, you can see the cannon knock down three different houses made of straw, stick, and brick with an explosive vortex ring.

The vortex ring that comes out is not smoke, however. After detonating the explosive gas mixture of acetylene and oxygen, “one of the most dangerous gas mixes in the world,” the ring forms from the pressure drop inside the vortex. It condenses the lake’s damp air and shoots a cloud out at 200-mph, knocking down anything in its path.
